British synthpop band Blancmange have announced their first North American performances since 1986. In addition to the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, CA, on May 17, they will be doing a string of dates opening for Midge Ure.
Formed in 1979 by Neil Arthur and Stephen Luscombe, Blancmange are known for hits such as Living on the Ceiling, Blind Vision, and Don’t Tell Me. The band initially broke up in 1986 but returned in 2011 with the Blanc Burn album. Shortly thereafter, Luscombe left due to health issues, but Arthur continued the project.
The schedule for shows with Midge Ure is:
- May 18 – San Francisco, CA – The Chapel
- May 19 – Denver, CO – The Oriental Theater
- May 22 – New York, NY – Sony Hall
- May 24 – Mississauga, Canada – Blancmange & Midge Ure with FourOneSix
Blancmange will then move on to more UK performances. For all dates and ticket links, visit https://www.blancmange.co.uk.
