Back in the late 1990s, we interviewed 12 Rounds, the duo of Atticus Ross and Claudia Sarne, around the release of their Nothing Records debut My Big Hero. They spoke about moving beyond their punk roots into a darker, more electronic sound, with Claudia’s vocals shaping the “character” of the music and Ross driving the production.
Looking back, it’s striking how their paths unfolded. Both Sarne and Ross went on to build successful careers in scoring for film and television, applying the same instincts and textures they explored in 12 Rounds. Ross also became a core member of Nine Inch Nails and is currently on tour with them.
