The 2025 Lost 80’s Live! tour kicks off this week with a July 31 show in New Haven, CT. The lineup features A Flock of Seagulls, Big Country, The Vapors, The Icicle Works, China Crisis, Belouis Some, Josie Cotton, The Polecats, Peter Godwin, and DJ Richard Blade. We have interviews with several of these artists, so it seemed like a perfect time to showcase them.
Belouis Some
Best known for the international hits “Imagination” and “Some People,” British singer-songwriter and musician Belouis Some (Neville Keighley) has returned to the stage after many years away from the music industry. He gave this interview in 2024, when he was scheduled to tour with The Alarm and Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel. That tour unfortunately didn’t happen, but earlier this year he hit the road with Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel and delivered an amazing show. Read it here.
The Vapors
Best known for their 1980 new wave classic “Turning Japanese,” The Vapors are back with their fourth album, Wasp in a Jar. Their second release since reuniting, it shows the band continuing to evolve on their own terms. They’re not trying to recreate the ’80s, but they’re not turning their backs on the era either. Dave Wakeling (General Public)
General Public formed after the original English Beat split, serving as a vehicle for Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger to continue working together (while Andy Cox and David Steele teamed up with Roland Gift to form Fine Young Cannibals). Sadly, Ranking Roger passed away in 2019, but before that both he and Wakeling launched their own versions of The Beat (Wakeling in the U.S., Ranking Roger in the U.K.).
