Avant-garde vocalist and composer Jarboe has shared a video excerpt for “Vireo Serenade,” a track from her upcoming album Sightings, due April 3 via Consouling Sounds.
At the heart of Sightings is Jarboe’s connection with the natural world, inspired by a vireo bird whose presence gradually revealed itself over time. “The vireo is heard yet not easy to be seen as he blends into the green leaves,” Jarboe explains. “One day, no longer hiding, he was on a branch a few feet away, and he captivated me every morning as I listened to the thousands of variations of his songs.”
The album blends electronic and organic instrumentation and features collaborators including Thor Harris, Andrea Calderon, Brett Robinson, Chiara Lee, and Freddie Murphy, with artwork by Phil Puleo. It marks Jarboe’s 36th solo album and the 55th release of her career overall.
Jarboe will also tour the UK and Europe in May 2026 alongside Harris and vocalist/composer Joy Von Spain.
